The Educative - Dancing association of Kopanos's "Alexander the Great" has been created in 1983.

  The aim of our association is to maintain the cultural delivery of our place with the teaching of traditional dances of Central - western Macedonia Greece and instrumental music, the collection of old heirlooms, costumes, objects for their rescue but also projection of our place's history.

  Today "Alexander the Great" has 150 and more active members people of the beautiful and of very important historical meaning at Macedonian ages, Kopanos of Imathia.

It teaches traditional dances and has in the potential of 150 members from 6 up to 40 years.

  "Alexander the Great" attendance in cultural events is continuous and rich.

  Our association has participated with big success in a lot of events of our prefecture "Imathiotika", in the GIOFF of - Torch Naoussa (in the 8th International Folkloric' Festival), as well as in events of our adjacent prefectures) Pella, Kilkis, Kozani and Florina), has taken part still in a lot of festivals of abroad (Serbia 2 times, Italy 3 times, Poland, France, Austria, Turkey 1 time and mores΄s) with a lot of discriminations.

Our association achieved he revives the forgotten traditional customs and events of our place (the big festival at the day of Saint Constantine and Helen and the event known as "colde" the day before Christmas).
